No todos los implantes personalizados están hechos del mismo material — y esa diferencia importa. Por eso el Dr. Villarreal diseña cada implante en colaboración con Design My Implants (DMI), utilizando tecnología PEEK/DMI en lugar de PEEK estándar.
El PEEK (poliéter éter cetona) es un material biocompatible, ligero y compatible con estudios de imagen como tomografías y resonancias. Pero biocompatible solo significa que el cuerpo lo tolera — no que se integra con él.
