What is Orthognathic Surgery
The best way to raise your self-esteem and your social relationships.
Occlusal and dental function, alteration of the temporo mandibular joint, facial aesthetics, breathing (sleep apnea).
People who may benefit from orthognathic surgery include those with an incorrect bite or jaws that are in the wrong position. Jaw growth is a gradual process, and in some cases, the upper and lower jaws may grow at different rates.
The result can be a series of problems that affect chewing function, speech, or long-term oral health and appearance. Jaw injuries and birth defects can also affect jaw alignment.
Orthodontics alone can correct bite problems when only the teeth are involved. Orthognathic surgery may be required for the jaws when repositioning is necessary.
- Corrective jaw surgery is a significant intervention that requires weeks or months of preparation.
- The surgery is done in the hospital and can take between one and four hours.
- Hospitalizations of one to three days are normal.
- The braces are kept in place during the surgery and may need to be removed six to twelve months after surgery.
- The greatest impact of orthognathic surgery is the recovery phase.
- Patients can usually be away from work or school for two weeks to a month after surgery.
- A normal chewing function can take two months, and a full function can take a year.
- Our goal is to make sure you are well cared for during and after your surgery.
Facial Trauma
The most common fractures are caused by car and motorcycle accidents, sports, or fighting (3rd people).
The treatment of facial fractures should be accomplished thoroughly and predictably. More importantly, the patient's facial appearance should be minimally affected.
An attempt at accessing the facial bones through the fewest incisions necessary is always made. At the same time, the incisions that become necessary are designed to be small and, whenever possible, are placed so that the resultant scar is hidden.
3D planning
Orthognathic surgery, corrective jaw surgery, aesthetic surgery, or trauma all benefit from computed-aided 3D planning.
This helps you understand the surgical process and the extent of the proposed treatment.
